SIDESTORY - CHAPTER 11

8 years later.

A pair of twinkling eyes looked down on the ministers of literature and music. When everyone came forward and talked, they bent down and never looked up at her side, so Seol-hee deliberately closed her eyes and gave them a weird expression. They didn’t laugh because no one saw.

“Are you still doing such cute things?”

The child who had been sitting on Yoon’s lap froze. The child looked at Yoon with sparkling blue eyes resembling that of Eunseol’s.

“But it’s too boring,” Seol-hee said with lips pouted but as soon as she let out a sound, the talking below had stopped.

Seol-hee was surprised and covered her lips with both of her hands. Yoon’s gaze was fixed on Seol-hee the whole time. She blinked her round eyes like a rabbit and looked at Yoon in fear. Her mother had told her to stay still, as if she was not there, and never to cause an accident.

“Continue.”

“You Majesty, we cannot delay any longer. His Majesty the Crown Prince’s rebuke is urgently needed in order to strengthen and consolidate the country.”

Yoon, who was sitting on the throne, was still looking at Seol-hee. Seol-hee looked at her father, Haewoon. No one raised their heads because it was the same day that Haewoon was in the palace hall but suddenly, as if to check on her daughter, Haewoon who was standing below raised his gaze. Seol-hee smiled broadly at her father.

“Our Seol-hee is looking only at General Haewoon, even though he is doing so well.”

“Your Majesty- His Majesty the Crown Prince must be held accountable.”

Everyone pretended not to know Seol-hee, pretended not to see her.

The emperor himself held the child’s hand although his subordinates complained that it was against etiquette to come to his side and sit on his lap but it was useless. Haewoon was scared that it might affect his child but he couldn’t say anything, and the unruly emperor also heard it on one ear and let it pass on the other.

The problem is that Haewoon took his daughter wherever he went, and they just gritted their teeth with the thought of it.

“I have a promise with your father.”

“With my father?” Seol-hee then turned her head to look at Yoon.

Yoon was satisfied with the birth of such an intelligent daughter between Haewoon and Eunseol. Even if she was born a son, he had a lot of princesses, so he can have them as in-laws as he wishes. The reason he wanted the daughter was simply because he wanted to raise her in the Imperial Palace. If she marries one of his sons, she will have no choice but to live in the Imperial Palace.

“Doesn’t Seol-hee want to live in the Imperial Palace?”

Seol-hee shook her head. Her home, the manor, was also large but every time she came to the Imperial Palace, a new place seems to be created. Even if she followed her father every day, it was difficult to capture all of its majesty. Even though she came here every day, it was so dazzling and huge that she couldn’t catch up with everyone. If she stayed here, it will definitely be fun.

Yoon smiled low as he looked at the sparkling blue eyes, thinking about the though of Seol-hee staying in the Imperial Palace.

“But my mother will be sad.”

Since she was a little child, Yoon thought that she would definitely think that the palace was something that she would like to stay at, but it was unexpected. Eunseol also rejected his proposal, and Seol-hee shook her head firmly as if she had nothing to think about twice.

“If I had known this would happen, I would have taken your mother as my concubine no matter what.”

“Your Majesty.”
