SIDESTORY - CHAPTER 1.2
Eun-seol bit her lips and put on a relaxed smile.
"You have to think about your safety first."
Eunseol froze when she first faced Haewoon. If she had an audience with the Emperor who was more imposing than him, her heart might stop.
"I am thinking,” Eunseol replied as she touched her stomach.
They were getting close and a person even came out to greet Eun-seol.
“You cannot enter the Imperial Palace."
“We are the escorts of General Geummun, a government official. Please allow us in.”
"Even if you are an escort from General Geummun, how dare you enter the palace armed? Only government officials are allowed by the Emperor to enter the palace in the first place,” the court lady cut in coldly.
Saya dismissed the suggestion to disarm them. "We can't let her in alone either."
"Are you trying to insult His Majesty for a mere escort?"
Saya knew that no matter how ignorant Eunseol was, she could no longer do anything about the situation.
"Madam."
Saya quietly held onto Eunseol. Eun-seol shook her head a little, her face saying that they couldn’t help it anymore.
Saya fell to the floor as Eunseol tried to get off the horse. Eunseol, who stepped on the woman’s back, made eye contact with the head court lady.
"Should I go alone?"
"Follow me."
“Saya, go back to the manor.”
"How can I leave you alone? I'll wait for you."
"When do you think I will come out? It's only a short distance between the palace and the manor, so go back."
"Madam, I have flown a messenger to the General, so he will be back in a hurry. Don't talk to anyone in there. Even if they ask you, you must avoid answering them, tell them that it is all your will."
The Emperor was also known for his young age and cruel demeanor. He is supported by General Haewoon, a General Geummun. According to rumors, General Geummun will bring a woman from Giran-Guk into the palace to end the long war.
Saya was worried that the arrow might fly to Eun-seol instead while the General was away.
"Do not worry about it."
Eunseol smiled brightly, but Saya was only worried. Growing up on the battlefield, her mistress was soft and tender. However, she doesn't know if it will be possible for her to remain bright even in the Imperial Palace without anyone she knows. Saya felt as if she was playing with a child by the water, and was full of worries and anxiety.
“Go quickly, okay? Because I'm worried about leaving the manor empty."
Eun-seol had planned to send Saya back from the beginning. Eun-seol reached out her arm and clasped her shoulder.
The cold frozen hands that seeped on the fabric was creepy. Only then did Saya realize that the young hostess was very nervous even though she pretended to be so calm, so she bowed her head down.
Eunseol turned around pretending not to know and approached the court lady waiting for her.
